Knowledge, Networks, New Directions: What to Expect from the Eurobike 2025 Specialist Program

As the cycling season picks up pace, Eurobike has unveiled the specialist program for its 33rd edition. Set to run from June 25 to 27 at Messe Frankfurt, the program offers a platform for the kind of industry exchange that’s becoming increasingly rare: face-to-face, content-driven and focused on long-term transformation.

As the cycling industry navigates structural change and growing political attention, Eurobike 2025 is positioning itself not just as a trade fair, but as a platform for shaping the future of mobility. This year’s Specialist Program—running during the three trade visitor days from June 25 to 27 in Frankfurt—goes well beyond product trends and new technologies. It offers a carefully curated mix of debates, workshops, and networking events, with a focus on industry transformation, digital innovation, and sustainable business strategies.

Organised in collaboration with leading associations like CONEBI, ZIV, CIE, Zukunft Fahrrad, and VSF, the program highlights the role of the bike and ecomobility sectors in addressing wider urban and environmental challenges.

Setting the Agenda: Industry & Start-Up Day

The Specialist Program kicks off on Wednesday, June 25, with the Industry & Start-Up Day. Policy consultant and co-founder of the Cycling Embassy of Denmark Marianne Weinreich will open the program with a keynote that reflects over two decades of experience advising cities on cycling infrastructure and policy. It’s a fitting start to a day that will focus on how digital tools, new services, and political frameworks can support the industry’s next chapter.

The day continues with panels on the growth of service-based business models, including insights from Mikko Ampuja (Vapus) and Eva Guldentops (Cyclis Bike Lease). Meanwhile, Björn Bergfeld (CarGoes Bikes) will dive into how AI and digitalisation are reshaping bike logistics and production.

For Wasilis von Rauch, Managing Director at Zukunft Fahrrad, the potential of company bike leasing stands out: “Company bike leasing has become a real success story in Germany—and increasingly across Europe. We now need to stabilise that growth politically and make sure it benefits the entire industry.”

Mobility Convention: Policy, Planning, and the Role of Smart Cities

On Thursday, June 26, the focus shifts from industry to public sector with the Mobility Convention. The day will explore how cities, institutions, and companies are trying to embed sustainable mobility into their operations—and how the bike industry can support that process. The program leans heavily into interdisciplinary networking, particularly around smart cities and integrated transport systems.

Manuel Marsilio, General Manager of CONEBI, puts it simply: “Our long-standing partnership with Eurobike is about bringing leadership together—so we can accelerate change not just in the market, but in how mobility works at a systemic level.”

Cargo Bikes and the New Urban Logistics

As urban logistics continue to shift, cargo bikes are gaining political and commercial relevance. That’s reflected in the Cargo Academy, which will explore both policy frameworks and business use cases—from last-mile delivery to internal logistics and institutional transport.

Also on the agenda: the wider field of ecomobility. Here, the program turns to smaller, specialised electric vehicles that increasingly fill gaps in urban transport, especially for company fleets, service providers, and public sector needs.

A Thread of Digitalisation

Throughout all three days, digitalisation will be a recurring theme—spanning everything from B2B services to smart infrastructure. Eurobike is again partnering with Germany’s Federal Association of the Digital Economy, bringing tech-sector expertise into the conversation. The overarching motto of the 2025 edition, “Shaping Active Mobility,” will be introduced on Leaders’ Night, the evening before the show opens to trade visitors. That theme is meant to run through every talk, meeting, and exhibit across the week.

Alongside the formal conference tracks, Eurobike 2025 also leans into community and representation. Networking formats like Women in Cycling, Pink Thursday, and Gravel Talk are returning, as are thematic guided tours covering everything from tourism to cargo and ecomobility.
