Months after being acquired by Yamaha Motors, Brose, the Berlin-based e-drive supplier, made good use of Eurobike’s global stage to launch the QORE brand and present itself as a full-on system provider.

When Yamaha Motors announced the acquisition of the e-bike drive and systems business of Brose at the end of March 2025, the Japanese corporation stressed its intention to keep the Berlin headquarters of Brose E-Bike operational. Yamaha also said it would use development resources to further optimize the planning and design of new e-bike related products. By establishing a development base of its own in Europe, the company wants to recognize market trends and requirements more quickly, respond flexibly to local customer requests and win new customers. In addition, Yamaha Motors sees room to strengthen procurement in key European markets and further improve operational efficiency.
The launch of the new QORE brand at Eurobike is more than simply a rebrand, signifying a step toward a seamless transition to Yamaha’s corporate roof. Derived from the English word “core,” the brand name emphasizes the importance of the e-drive system as the heart of an e-bike. As the company explains in a press release: “QORE is the strong, reliable energy core that allows e-bikers to master any situation in everyday life and leisure. The new look radiates the spirit of innovation that we stand for and marks a new beginning. ‘Born to perform’ signals that QORE is the start for us as a system provider, albeit soon under a different umbrella.”
The first e-drive system of the new QORE brand is positioned in the premium segment. It all starts with Brose E-Bike’s third-generation Drive3 Peak mid-motor known for its sensitive, yet powerful assistance. This motor is combined with an in-tube battery that is offered with either 650 Wh or 800 Wh capacity and boasts one of the highest energy densities on the market. The compact and ergonomic combined Control Allround unit handles the display and controls. For the 2027 model year, a more lightweight slide-in battery with 500 Wh capacity, a display that fits into the toptube and a remote control ring will be added to QORE’s offerings.
Additional drive, battery and display types are going to be added to the system in the near future. Thanks to its flexible architecture, the QORE system offers a wide range of options for the seamless integration of third-party components, ranging from ABS and E-Shift to GPS navigation and tracking or various IoT applications. At Eurobike, Brose E-Bike went for a hands-on approach, opting for a booth in the show’s open-air area and teaming up with German bicycle brands Waldbike and Campus as the first OE partners to build new models around the QORE system.
